WHAT IS COUNSELING?

Counselors diagnose and treat mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression, or bi-polar disorder.  Counselors can also help resolve past trauma. Counselors work with clients to cope with current emotional problems by resolving past issues.  Counselors help heal emotional wounds. 

You may need a counselor if:

  • you are experiencing significant anxiety, depression, or trauma

  • you need or want a diagnosis

  • you want to explore past issues and how they impact your life

  • you are experiencing thoughts of self harm * if you are experiencing thoughts of self harm, call 911 now

WHAT IS COACHING?

Coaches partner with clients to identify goals and implement strategies to improve relationships, careers, and day to day tasks and priorities to achieve greater fulfillment and success in life.  ADHD coaches have specialized training in how the ADHD brain works as well as some of the unique barriers people with ADHD sometimes face in achieving their goals.

You may want a coach if:​

  • you feel stuck or adrift

  • you need help understanding how to use your strengths to achieve your goals

  • you struggle with identifying what you want and how to get it

  • you need help developing skills to manage struggles common to ADHD

  • you want to develop your authentic self

  • you do not have a mental illness, or you also have a counselor to address mental illness
